Through much of my research on our Blunk family line and viewing how other settlers have come to the United States, these are my conclusions:

I have noticed that each Blunk, Blunck, Van Blunk had arrived here from England or Ireland.  Before taking a ship from England or Ireland they arrived there from either Germany, Denmark, Sweden, or Switzerland. With this knowlege, believe that William (Wilhelm) Blunk and his brothers did the same.

It is my opinion that Wilhelm "William" and his brothers (Hans "John" & Josef "Joseph") went to Ireland from Germany so they could come to America to make a new life.  There he met Rachel and they married.  Before raising their way to America, Rachel gave birth to three Children in Ireland (William, Hannah & Andrew). Their ship arrived from Ireland to New York City in America during the early 1760s. They settled in Washington, Allegheny Co., PA. Several years later many of their adult children went forward to Kentucky and Indiana. Later some explored, moving to new territory further west and south.
